동성애를 불법으로 규정하고 있는 우간다는 동성애자에 대한 마녀 사냥이 빈번히 자행되는 곳이다. 우간다 최초의 커밍아웃 게이인 데이빗 카토는 소위 “쿠추”라고 불리는 레즈비언, 게이, 양성애자, 트렌스 젠더들의 석방을 위해 애쓰고 있다. 하지만 HIV양성반응을 보이는 게이 남성의 사형집행을 골자로 하는 새로운 법안이 상정되면서 그의 싸움은 더욱 힘겨워진다.
